What is Syllabus?
Syllabus, founded in 1885, is the official undergraduate yearbook of Northwestern University. Published by SPC (Students Publishing Company) and run by Northwestern students, Syllabus seeks to include memorable events and highlights of each year as well as campus groups, organizations and living units. All Seniors are invited to have their portrait taken and included in a Senior section. Parents and friends of graduating seniors may purchase a special ad. Syllabus yearbooks are delivered on campus in May of each year.
Who publishes the Syllabus yearbook?
Syllabus is published by Students Publishing Company, Inc. (SPC), a nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing a training environment for NU students interested in the publishing field. SPC is financially independent of Northwestern University and responsible for generating all income. Any and all donations are gratefully accepted.
When is the Syllabus available?
The 2012 Syllabus will be available on campus in May. Older yearbooks may be picked up in Norris.
Why should I buy a yearbook?
Believe it or not, your digital images and Facebook pages will disappear. The Syllabus Yearbook provides you with a glossy, printed digest of your life at Northwestern. A special book to share with your parents and friends now; your children and grandchildren later.
Who and what is featured in Syllabus?
Many of your fellow students. Campus groups and other student organizations. Greeks. Living Units. Highlights of sporting events. Athletic team rosters and scoreboards. Cultural events including campus theater and musical performances, as well as popular professional acts. Academic departments and features. Seniors who are graduating and choose to have their portrait taken. And much more.
What if I am off-campus during distribution in May?
Yearbooks may be picked up anytime from our offices on the 3rd floor of Norris. If needed, your yearbook can be shipped for an additional $10 (Continental U.S. only). Please contact our office with your mailing address.
